Clinical Research Center (CRC) Consultation Services, Facilities, Space and Equipment

The SDSU HealthLINK Center features well configured and furnished research facilities to meet a variety of research needs for behavioral, clinical, and basic researchers. Research participants will benefit from our location 1.2 miles from campus with nearby transit stops (bus, trolley) and easy freeway access. We provide access to flexible research space including reception, clinical exam rooms, phlebotomy suite, multiple rooms that can be configured to meet your project’s needs for a wide range of one-on-one and group interactions, and storage space for research equipment and supplies. Our conference rooms with A/V capabilities are available for community-engaged meetings and workshops. The CRC provides computer and mobile device access to its users complete with wifi access on site. A range of research equipment and supplies, including mobile devices, are available for rental to further support your research needs. Contact us for a full list of what is available.
 

Services Provided


  1. Consultation and best practice for human subject research
    1. Provide template and review drafts of human subject informed consent
    2. Provide template and review drafts of human subject Standard Operating Policies and Procedures (SOPs), which are documents written to enable a project to maintain a system of compliance
    3. Regulatory and compliance consultation
    4. Review and provide feedback for IRB & amendment drafts
    5. Review drafts of Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) documents and provide feedback on regulatory and ethical guidelines, safety monitoring guidance, adverse event protocol development, and guidance for reporting to IRB. 
  2. Clinical Trial Management Software (CTMS) including centralized calendar, participant interface, visualization across studies, randomization, blinded studies, eHR, electronic data capture, customized survey capabilities and more
  3. Biospecimen collection, coding, tracking, and storage (e.g., blood, urine, stool, saliva)
  4. Configurable spaces for conducting your research activities in a warm and welcoming environment with a bilingual (English/Spanish) Administrative Assistant; on-site storage for your research supplies is available
  5. Research equipment/supply rental, including but not limited to: 
    1. Anthropometric/physical measures (e.g., height/weight)
    2. Physiological assessments (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate)
    3. Fitness assessment (e.g., stair steppers and risers)
