Dr. Joseph Gibbons is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Associate Director of the Center for Human Dynamic in the Mobile Age in the College of Arts and Letters at SDSU. He is an urban sociologist interested in how neighborhoods affect the wellbeing of their residents. His research interests have centered on how strong ties of community found in segregated neighborhoods moderate health disparities for racial/ethnic minorities. He is a Co-Investigator at the SDSU HealthLINK Center providing expertise on sociologic and spatial methods in demography research.
